Liverpool will wear a special jersey with the logo “Seeing is Beleiving” in the game against Manchester United on Saturday (14/10/2017).

Juergen Klopp’s troops will show their support for Standard Chartered’s community program to reduce the case of blindness.

“We are delighted to partner with Standard Chartered until the sixth year in support of Seeing is Believing,” said Liverpool director Billy Hogan, as quoted by Liverpool Echo.

“By building awareness of the avoidable blindness between players and fans, we believe we can fight against blindness and improve the lives of millions of people around the world,” he said.

Although more than 253 million people in the world suffer from visual impairment, 80 percent of cases can be prevented or cured.

Seeing is Believing has run 166 projects in 36 countries and cooperation between Liverpool and Standard Chartered has garnered nearly 300 thousand pounds resulting from fans’ contributions and auction results.

In tomorrow’s game, Supporters can order special edition shirts that are signed by players and all donations will be distributed through Standard Chartered.

“I am inspired by the extraordinary support we receive from Liverpool FC,” said David Fein, chair of the Seeing is Believing program.

“Eighty-nine percent of avoidable blindness occurs in low- and middle-income countries, affecting many communities where Standard Chartered operates,” he added.
