Delhi government to stage musical play on Ambedkar’s life from Jan 5

New Delhi [India]Dec 23 (ANI): The Delhi government will stage a musical play on the life of Dr BR Ambedkar at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here from Jan 5, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia informed on Thursday.
Addressing a press conference, Sisodia said: “Delhi government is organizing a musical play on the life of Dr BR Ambedkar. It will be held from 5th January 2022. There will be two performances daily at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. There are a total of 50 shows about his life.”
The Minister also informed that tickets for this show will be free and reservations will be made online.
“Tickets for the show will be free. As we have limited seating, reservations will need to be made online. Starting today, you can book tickets by calling 8800009938. You can also book tickets through babasahebmusical .in,” Sisodia said.
Speaking about the show, he said, “Its theme song was released a few days ago and Rohit Roy, a well-known face in Bollywood, is the lead actor. Mahua Chauhan is the show’s director.”
Actor Rohit Roy and Mahua Chauhan were also present at the press conference with the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi today.
“Such shows have been organized in western countries. This is the first such show in India. Although we are not competing with them. -video about such a leader, then he will reach more people because we are here today because of him,” said show director Mahua Chauhan.

Actor Rohit Roy said: “We all have Ambedkar within us. We have the opportunity to play the role of such a leader, once in our life. It is he, thanks to whom we have our Constitution today.”
The actor further informed that the show is being held with all COVID-19 protocols in place.
The minister called on people to watch the show and be inspired by his life, how he gave so much to the country.
“I call on people to come see the show. You should all take inspiration from his life and how he gave so much to the country. We always say that whatever we are today is thanks to him,” he added.
Earlier on December 15, Sisodia released the theme song for the play based on the life of Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar which would be staged at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
Sisodia launched the song at Kalkaji School of Excellence in Delhi. The Indian Ocean band, who also composed the song, performed on the occasion.
A singer from the Indian Ocean group, Himanshu Joshi, told ANI that the Marathi flavor was added to the song.
“Indian Ocean Band: Himanshu Joshi: We tried to add a Marathi flavor to the song because he was from Maharashtra. There are many Marathi musicians involved in composing the song,” he said.
Another singer, Nikhil Rao, said, “There are many actors and dancers in the play. We saw the rehearsal of the play yesterday. The play is mostly in Hindi. The songs are also in Hindi. We added a Marathi flavor at some point.” (ANI)
