Mask and Rose Theater offers scholarships to female musical artists – Bemidji Pioneer

PUPOSKY – The Mask and Rose Theater is accepting applications for two $1,000 scholarships in support of two promising female musical artists.

Applicants will be required to attend an interview and audition to be selected and introduced to the Sister Song Celebration concert for female musical artists with regional establishment beginning at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 11 at the theater, 24011 Highway 89 NW in Puposky.

“Women have had a growing presence in the music industry over the past few decades, but are still underrepresented in many areas,” a statement read. “Today, only women

represent 21.7% of artists, 12.3% of songwriters and 2.1% of producers. »

As part of supporting women in music, the Mask and Rose Women’s Theater Collective and Sister Song Celebration Music Scholarship will support women with a passion for music/creation who wish to apply for one of two $1,000 scholarships to support their advancement in their musical life, the statement said.
