Sonny Boy Anime Reveals Contributing Musical Artists, New Visual
The official Twitter account of director Shingo Natsume and the original anime from studio Madhouse Sonny boy revealed that director Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop) serves as the anime’s musical advisor, as well as several musicians who will contribute to the anime’s soundtrack alongside a new teaser visual.
In addition, a video featuring the musicians’ songs and the song “Shōnen Shōjo” by Ging Nang BOYZ has been revealed. The anime will premiere on July 15, and its first episode will premiere online in advance on June 19.
Contributing musicians include Sunset Rollercoaster, VIDEOTAPEMUSIC, The Natsuyasumi Band, mitsume, Ogawa & Tokoro, Mid-Air Thief, Kaneyorimasaru, toe and Conisch, who is working on the background piano music for the anime.
The main cast of the anime includes Aoi Ichikawa as Nagara, Saori Ōnishi as Nozomi, Aoi Yūki as Mizuko, and Chiaki Kobayashi as Asakaze.
The anime’s staff includes Natsume as director and screenwriter Norifumi Kugai (DAA: 13) as character designer, original drawings by Hisashi Euguchi (Perfect blue), Mari Fujino (Dororo) as artistic director, Ken Hashimoto (BEASTS) as key color artist, Akane Fushihara (No game, no life: zero) as director of photography, Kashiko Kimura (Btooom!) as editor, and Shōji Hata (Death threat) as sound director. The theme song from the anime “Shōnen Shōjo” (Boys and Girls) is performed by Ging Nang Boyz.
The survival anime follows 36 college kids and girls who suddenly find themselves in a different dimension and wake up with supernatural powers.
